The Paint Guys

Not sure what paint you need? We've got you.

Three quick questions decide whether a paint job actually lasts — what you're painting, what condition it's in, and getting the steps in the right order. Answer those and we'll point you straight at the right product.

1. What are you painting?

A floor, a metal gate, a garden shed, a boat — what it's made of decides which paint will actually work. Bare metal needs a different starting point than wood or concrete, and galvanised steel is its own special case (more on that below).

2. What state is it in?

Brand new, already painted, or a bit rusty and tired? A sound existing coat of paint can often just be freshened up directly. Bare or rusty metal always needs a primer underneath first — skip it and paint will peel or flake off within months.

3. Follow the order

Some jobs just need one all-in-one product; others need a primer first, then a topcoat on top. Get the order right and the finish lasts for years. We flag exactly what's needed, in order, on every product page — so there's no guesswork.
